This painting depicts Krishna with his friends who are trying to steal butter which is hung high up in the roof. The Gopis who caught Krishna stealing the butter are amused and watch him secretively. Krishna was notorious in his neighborhood for stealing butter and was known as’ Maakhan Chor’ in Vrindavan.
