The Celebration: PHAD PAINTING BY KRITIKA JOSHI

Even though the phad paintings were traditionally based on folk stories, the recent radical urbanisation has brought the other elements in the art. This section of phad painting depicts a couple in celebration. They are sitting together in a natural and romantic setting. A maidservant flanks them, who could also be their entertainer, singer, dancer, or attendant. In the background we can see a lush tree with new leaves. The entire painting is done using blue, golden and black.
