Fertilizer/ feed for the plant : Plant the Christmas Cactus in a humus and nutrient rich but well-draining soil. Feed your plant a high potassium fertilizer every two-weeks in the growing season, especially when the buds form and fertilize it once every two months in dormant periods.
Repotting : Repot your cactus every year after the flowering season is over in fresh soil for healthier growth. Do not try to repot your cactus when the plant is blooming, as the plant will go into shock and struggle.
Propagation : The Christmas plant can be easily propagated through leaf cuttings or as they are called segment cutting. break/cut off segments from the mother plant and propagate them in water in a glass jar with the cut end just skimming the water surface.
